Since games like "Dear Esther" walking simulators have became very popular. From instant classics like "Gone Home" and "What Remains of Edith Finch" the genre has seen some really special games. Those two titles in my opinion are two of the very best to date. Games where the story, and not the action is what grabs you. Shape of the World isn't the same in this regard though. What grabs you with it is the visuals. It is a game where you start in world of nothing , and it evolves around you. It never really tells you what to do, but you some how just know. It never really says anything, but you still feel it. As you advance the world just advances with you. You even find seeds that you can throw out there and create instant life before you, or chop it down as you wish. There is lots of life that just surrounds you, and you find yourself in awe with. It is really hard to explain this game. The last game i think that made me feel the way i did while playing it was Slime Rancher. It to was just a beautiful colorful environment mixed with colors and chaos, but Shape of the World still feels so different then it. You don't know where you are going or why, but yet you know your getting there and your enjoying doing so. Something about this game just connects with you visually. I could imagine this game being amazing with a VR experience. This game is really hard to review and explain, it is just a special treat that you have to see for yourself. Its not loaded with action, or an amazing story, but yet somehow it is. Shape of this World is just one of those games you have to experience for yourself and will probably take something different from it then the next guy. The experience and music is just something magical, and I hope you do give it a try yourself.

Pros: Beautiful open world
Mesmerizing music, and locations
Tons of hidden objects
wonderful creatures everywhere

Cons: Get stuck on the map in a few locations

Overall: 8.2 Shape Of this World is a open world walking simulator like you've never witnessed before. The world, sounds, and music just pull you in from start to finish.
