Reviews:

If you are a fan of skateboarding games you already know how big of a year for the genre was with the release of the Tony Hawk remaster. It was without question the best sports game last year, and one of the best games period to be honest. That being said you might not have heard of this little Indie Skater, but in my opinion it isn't far behind the Tony Hawk release. I mean that on all levels. The art style is beautiful. You just get lost in the wonderful looking atmosphere. The music is outstanding, from banger hip hop tracks to relaxing  and catchy instrumentals. The fun and content is just addictive and long lasting. Tons of challenges to keep you busy for hours and hours. Some super challenging to test  you to your limits, and some really simple that any one can handle. The tricks are super easy to do, and really difficult to master. So it really appeals to all levels of gamers. To the gamer who just wants to skate, and relax on the couch it's super easy to just get lost in the games free play mode. Endless play where you can complete challenges, and just ride around doing what ever you feel like. To the games what almost seems unlimited challenge modes. Really cool modes like races, running from cops, trying to get high scores, modes where you are trying to land certain tracks, and so so much more. I can't put into words just how easy it is to get lost in Skate City. I found myself just lost in it's content for hours. The vibe is so chill that is just a excellent way to spend a evening. Even on the toughest challenges it was never frustrating  for me. I was tested of course, but never annoyed buy it.

The customization and unlockables are a plenty in this one as well. You can buy tricks, skills, clothes, boards, and wheels. Every challenge unlocks you credits to do so. You can also use these credits to unlock extra areas. You start with one Los Angeles, and can purchase two others. Each of these areas are loaded with challenges, and a free play mode where you can do a endless run. There are tons of hidden challeneges in these where you can spend hours trying to find them and practicing your tricks . You can even save video of your runs as well. let's get back to these unlockables though. Tons of outfits to make your character look just how you want them to. Lots of really cool boards and wheels as well. I had a blast designing my character, and trying to grab every single board and sets of wheels. I just can't get enough of Skate City. I'm hours in, and don't see myself stepping away from it any time soon. I highly recommend this one for skate fans, especially ones on a budget. The content and quality you get with Skate City far exceeds the $14.99 price tag attached to it. I can't think of another skate game at that price point that even comes close. You won't regret your purchase for one second, and I'm sure you will go back to this game time and time again when you can't get out on your real board due to weather or what ever is keeping you from taking it to the streets.

Built for every skill level of gamer.

Beautiful backgrounds and real legendary skating locations.

A real quality soundtrack.

Smooth and spot on controls.

Loaded with things to unlock and challenges.

There isn't a whole lot to mention here. Would maybe have liked to see a couple more locations maybe, but who knows they might be on the way in DLC.

Overall Impression:
