TOUR DE FRANCE 2017 is a perfect introduction into the genre if you been thinking about starting into a cycling game. It is the best of the series yet. It still isn't perfect, but it is certainly the most enjoyable yet. Everything is improved. It has beautiful locations. So many gorgeous tracks to race. It has so much realism, you feel like your really in the race. You have to monitor everything like a true cyclist would. Must maintain your speed and energy, even have gels you eat to help with this. You can gas yourself out, or plan it all right to grab the win. Doesn't mean you have to lose though, if you mess up with a character you control the entire team so you have a chance to take over a different racer and capture the win. You can sit everything about the team up from who leads, presses the action, lays back, everything is under your control. You can play the entire Tour this way. You can even edit your team making it the way, or names you want. Also winning the race isn't the only objective though. There are different objectives, and jackets you can capture. Best climber, Best Sprinter, Young Rider, Etc all of these play into the final result, and capturing the jersey. So communicate with your team well, because it is all impossible to do all on your own.
There are different modes like challenge, and Pro Team which is pretty much creating a team. If you are a cycling fan I could see this being very fun , and interesting. The casual fan, I could see getting bored easy. Very , very long races. Music is kind of bland, doesn't bring much to the game. Cycling is just something that is hard to bring to a game. The races last hours, and you have to really understand the sport to find the excitement. So I would recommend learning as much about the sport as you can, and playing the training mode before jumping right in. As far as doing the best with what you got these guys pulled it off. I'll admit I don't know everything about the Tour. It isn't as big here in the US, but this game still got my attention, and kept me entertained. The realism is hard to deny, as well as the beauty of the environments.

Overall 7.1 If your a cycling fan this is the best experience yet, if your not game might struggle to entertain you with its current modes.
