The Long reach is a horror game that has a lot of narrative and puzzles throughout. It is also full of suspense, and mystery. The story really delivers, and pulls you in. It has you wondering what really caused all this as you try , and escape the different areas. It bounces around to different places in the game, and moments very nicely. While never really giving away anything along the way until the end. It also delivers two very different finales, so it very much encourages replay. As well as different dialogue choices which can leave you looking like two different characters overall. Sometimes this dialogue is a bit much, and runs on to where you stop even reading it. You can find yourself button jamming through some of the less important conversations. it runs great only had a issue once where my character disappeared , but then I died and he came back.
The graphics look great though. They have a very retro, yet new crisp detailed look to them, and the music fits very nicely. Some of the sounds do as well add a lot of excitement, fear, and tension as you go. Especially in stealth, and escaping scenes. I really enjoyed this game a lot. If you go into it blindly it will take you a good but to solve the puzzles, because they are really in depth, and tricky. I'd say it could take anywhere to five hours to do this on your own. Second play through or using walkthroughs it can be done in under a hour. I recommend getting your money's worth , and doing it on your own at first.
The achievements are fun, and very funny titled. Most you won't miss because they are story related but there are prob three or four that can be missed. If you make yourself aware of them before hand you'll probably grab them easy like reading all the emails, and drinking from all the water fountains. There are also multiple ones for the endings, but if you don't want to replay it you can shut if off, and hit continue and grab the other. All in all I had a pretty good time with this. It is one of those games you load up when you want to spend a evening with your console, and actually complete a game and unlock everything for it. Achievement and trophy hunters will certainly add this to their must plays.
