Tiny Derby places you as a bystander with the ability to throw hazards and boosts onto the racetrack where small square creatures race frantically towards the finish line.

Rooting for the far-less angry looking little yellow guy, the goal is to see them through to victory by using your limited boosts and de-buffs strategically while the race plays out before your eyes, slowing down the other racers or even knocking them out.

Reaction time will need to be quick, and touch controls on the switch screen will allow for absolute precision, letting your happy square chug along to victory.

The game itself may be simple, but the need to look for areas of opportunity to use your abilities can make things frantic.

Pros:
- Intuitive touch input.
- Score ranking that provides replay incentive.

Cons:
- Controller support, while functional is not ideal.

Overall: 7/10

Tiny Derby is a simple game that is good for when you have a few moments of spare time. The touch controls lend themselves well to tablet mode with the joycons detached and set aside, and children will likely enjoy it.
