Glaive Brick Breaker borrows its mechanics from a lot of classic brick breaking titles. Arkanoid, Super Breakout, Pong and adds a twist of modern. It does everything the classics did, but adds a lot of new twists to them. I grew up on those classics and instantly fell in love with this modern take. From level creation, to boss battles, different game types, and a killer soundtrack Glaive Brick Breaker just delivers a fresh concept on an old idea and game type. I was hooked and at over 200 levels it keeps you playing for a long time. There is even a level creation that let's you create new layouts. I wish they were available to be shared online. I think that would have gave the game limitless replay value. Maybe that is something they can add to the game at a later date.

The game has some really cool power ups everything from 1-ups to slowing the ball down. You can even get missiles. You can get a a bigger paddle, or slow the ball down or even make it really large. I could talk about the power ups all day there is a ton of them. There is a meter as well when it is full you can go into a mode where the ball speeds up and barriers are added to the floor so you don't even have to use your paddle to clear out a large area of blocks. Just be careful it doesn't disappear when you aren't ready and let the ball get by you. If it does you will be okay though you get like 3 lives, and you can even get more in power-ups so it's never a real struggle with difficulty. Some are more difficult then others though from blocks that can't be broken getting in the way, or blocks you have to hit multiple times, to blocks that go in and out of the background. It really offers a fresh take and things to keep you from getting that repetitive feeling.

The thing I might have loved the most about Glaive: Brick Breaker is the killer soundtrack. There was some really great fast hype you up music, and even some killer songs with vocals. I found myself just playing over and over to hear some of the music. Even searching for it on Youtube. Toms "Tobu" Burkovskis,Steam Phunk, and Kubbi deliver some really , really addicting songs on this one. When I first heard them I was hooked and it instantly added to the replay value for me.
It has some really simple achievements as well. Most are for just beating levels. So it is a pretty simple complete game if you are pretty skilled at this game type. You will have to beat all of the levels though to get every Achievement. And each of the levels of the different game types. There is a more modern looking Neon set of levels with bright looking bricks. There is a winter snow mix of levels with ice, snowmen, and candy canes. Its full of very cute Christmas feeling backgrounds. Then a huge lot of just basic looking levels that will keep you busy for hours. I highly recommend this for fans of the genre, and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Pros:
Tons of Levels
KILLER Soundtrack
Smooth Controls
Multiple Game Types
Bright and Colorful backgrounds

Cons:
Wish level creation was online to have unlimited levels

Overall: 7.8
The best Pong/Arkanoid/Super Breakout Clone I've played in some time. Takes everything you loved about the originals, and delivers them in a really fresh and modern package. The soundtrack alone is worth the price, but the total package gives you far more content value than the price tag.
