To any one who has liked or followed us from the start you'll probably remember that one of the first games we ever reviewed was "Super Toy Cars" I remember I gave it like a 9 or a 9.5 it's been so long I can't remember. I also didn't feel like scrolling through all those posts to find it. We been doing this awhile now. I do remember it left a lasting impression on me though as one of the best Kart Racers this Gen. You would have had to talk about a million dollar production "Mario kart 8" to top it in my opinion. Until now. "Super Toy Cars 2" does everything the first amazing title did even better. I didn't think that was even possible, but Eclipse games delivers on this one.
There are three modes Career, Quick race, and Online. Career mode is broken down to 12 different Cups. Each one is made of 4 to 5 different race types.
BASIC RACES: a basic Kart type where you try to cross the finish line first. Different weapons are laid all over the map for pick up.
DESTRUCTION:: where you have a certain amount of time to destroy crash test cars on a track by weapon use or crashing them.
CLEAN RACE: where you basically try to finish first without using any type of weapons.
DEATH RACE: where you try to finish first and survive in this mode if you get blown up or wrecked the race is over for you. ELIMINATION: Is a race where you don't want to be in last place, because after a certain amount of time the car in last place is removed until you have one stand alone winner.
TIME TRIAL: This one you race against the clock you are alone on the track trying to get the best time possible. At the end of the race it ranks the best lap times from first to last.
DEMOLITION DERBY: Where you are put in a small squared or round arena, and power ups are spread out to grab , and you try to wreck as many of your rivals in a certain amount of time. Who ever has the most wrecked cars wins.In the cup races you get a point system first place being 14 and count down last being 7 over these 4 to 5 events it will add your total. You will get coins to buy upgrades and cars and unlock new races for how well you do. You want to finish first in all of them to get 100% completion though, and Achievement for doing so. Also stars that unlock new vehicles to purchase as well. They aren't overly difficult though, especially if you upgrade your vehicles with the money you earn. So let's talk about the cars and the upgrades.

There are six different types of upgrades Engine, Tyres, Boost, Gear Box, Drift, and Weight Reduction. Each start out with a cheap price of around 1500 to 1600 dollars and go up as you upgrade them. They all usually can be upgraded from three to five times depending on the vehicle. Some vehicles are just better than others so require more money and upgrades to max them out. There is also 5 different types of vehicles.
WHACKY CARS: that are made up of stuff like Buggies and vans.
MUSCLE CARS: That are made up of things like Mustangs or Camaros.
GRAN TURISMOS: Are mostly convertibles
SUPER CARS:Are your more high dollar street racers
OPEN WHEELERS: Are your Indy type vehicles.
All are really fun to use and unique in their own ways. If you want the speed though you are gonna love the Open Wheeler experience the most. There are 20 different cars in total to unlock so about 4 in each group. Wish there was a few more, but really enjoyed the options available as well.
So let's talk tracks there are 16 different tracks. I have to say I love them all. They never feel repetitive at all. They are made up of really cool ideas from the basic a child's bedroom to really awesome off the wall racing ideas like backyard grill party. 50's diners with Jukeboxes,Casinos with roulette wheels and casino chips, and even Music studios loaded with instruments. You can't even imagine all the amazing things you will see on these tracks. They are full of bends and turns that make you learn to draft if you are going to improve your lap times. You will enjoy learning these tracks and it's going to take awhile for you to master them all. Let's go straight to my favorite part of "Super Toy Cars 2" though after talking about the music studio track.

The "MUSIC" you can't talk about this game or the first one without talking about the amazing soundtrack. The first games soundtrack was just so good, but this one is even more of a masterpiece. I would go as far to say it's the best Indie Soundtrack I've ever experienced as far as Indie rock bands. You know we love "The SpinWires" we even use their excellent music in our intro videos on YouTube. We are huge fans, and we was glad to see their quality music back on this sequel, but they added even more great bands as well. A ton of great music you will want to look after playing this game. We recommend you do, you won't be disappointed at all. Music from groups like.

The SpinWires
Brad Sucks
Shoe
BackYard SuperHeroes
Dance for the Dying
Lorenzo's Music
Shearer
The Blue Stones
Deco
From Kid
Rivonia Ft. Cali Vali
The Runaway Club
The MadPix Project
and many many more.

That doesn't even begin to cover the quality music from these guys and gals.
With the other modes Quick Race and Online it's just versus mode basically. You can play against people either local on online. Both work perfectly, and I had some fun races with friends, but none with strangers. I guess there isn't a matchmaking option. Maybe one will be released, or is available on launch of that I'm not sure. As of right now you have to invite friends you know have the game so that might be a little limiting to your game play. If you can talk your friends into experiencing this great game with you though you are going to have a blast. With 16 unique tracks, and amazing music that you get excited for every time you hear it It's going to take a long time to feel repetitive. I played a good 5 hours and didn't even hear a song more than twice. So you might be like me playing this until a third installment is released (fingers crossed) So many of these tracks are gonna become favorites of yours. I hope you support this game , and these bands. They are all really high quality, and so is this game development. As you can already tell I'm giving this game 100% of my recommendation and a perfect score of 10. I love Super Toy Cars, The Spin Wires, Eclipse Games, and a bunch of these new groups I was introduced to. We hope you do to.

Pros:
Excellent designed tracks
The best indie game soundtrack ever
Really Rad Cars
Tons of upgrades and cars to unlock
Online and couch racing modes
Tons of cool race types
Cons:
Wish there was a few more cups
Wish there was a few more cars
Can have frame drop during large car pile ups
Overall: 10 out of 10
Super Toy Cars 2 is better than the original, and may be the best Kart racer this generation . It is a most own for kart racing fans, as well as fans of excellent Indie Rock. I'll say it again the best soundtrack on a Indie game period. Hey Eclipse How about making that Extras menu track list playable on non stop mode for us people writing out reviews that loves hearing your game jam out in the background.
