MetaGal is a Mega-man clone that does just about everything right you loved about the classics on the NES and SNES. Fight your way through 8 unique levels loaded with 30 different type enemies. There is a unique boss at the end of each one as well. As you defeat them you can also emulate their skills after. There is Shield, Dash, Chaos, Buster, and Warp Gal and then the final one is General Creeper. Shield Gal gives you a shield that fires heat sinking shots. Dash lets you dash across difficult areas and holes in the landscape as a giant fireball. Chaos lets you use gears you collect as health. Those gears are valuable though as they also act as checkpoints you can use to start over if you die. Buster lets you throw mines on the ground that when you jump on them send you soaring into the sky to reach higher levels. Warp Gal lets you shoot enemies and warp to their locations even behind walls. each one has very valuable, and you will use them on your journey. Make sure to hold on to your gears, and try to use the games own checkpoints to save for end game because it can get very tough. The game is very forgiving boss fights and levels up until the end where it gets rather tough. General Creeper is no joke,
The game is 16 bit graphics, and looks pretty good. I wish they would have cleaned it up a little, especially the games tech. I think they are going for like retro television lines, but I'd liked to seen it with perfect clean graphics. That isn't a major flaw, and probably my only complaint at all. I loved the old school music though. Each level it just fit so perfect into it.The sounds as well just really took me back to battling Wiley and his baddies on Mega-Man 2 which is by far my favorite mega-man title and one of the greatest games of all times. This game does pretty good at delivering a bargain version of everything you loved about those games.

The replay value is certainly there as you can get level grades and times that show up on the leader board, and I could see this being a game that a lot of speed runners adopt. It just has a smooth well controlled level with a difficulty I could see many of them enjoying. it also has characters to unlock as well. Well you like MetaGal? I think so especially if you like Mega-Man or just don't feel like spending a ton of money on a fun platformer. I think Metagal is around 5 dollars, and worth every penny to me. I think if your a Achievement hunter your going to grab it as well. You know Ratalaika games and their history of achievement hunting games. This is no different. I was able to get my 1000 gamer score before even finishing the second boss. So check it out, and let us know what you think.

Pros: Great for Speed running
Simple Achievements
Unique Enemies and Bosses
Challenging
Great Retro Feel and Sound
Tons of Replay

Cons: Graphics could been cleaned up a bit.

Overall: 7.6 One of the better Mega-Man clones especially for it's price. Great for fans of the series and or Achievement hunting.
