Super Wiloo really took me back to the days of Super Mario 3 on my NES. Yes you can tell it's heavily inspired, but that is a good thing. It really delivers a lot of fun for a small price tag. Five Dollars typical Ratalaika pricing gets you 50 levels stretched over 5 worlds all with ending bosses. You can play it casual or up the level and struggle as you only get one man to complete a level. You play as Wilooa kid trying to get his dog back after Dr.ETvaldo captures it thinking the animals are the key to happiness. You go on a mission to try and rescue your pet across water levels, ice, lava, etc. Would been nice if you could play as Agatha maybe Wiloo will get captured on his way home and the sequel will be Super Agatha. Hmm doesn't really have that same ring to it. Like Mario 3 you also get cool suits with special abilities attached to them A bee that can fly, a rolling armadillo, a fast swimming turtle, and a unicorn that can shoot its horn at enemies. The game will keep you busy for hours, but you can get all the Achievements/trophies in under a hour. Like Ratalaika tradition, another 5 dollar easy completion to pad your stats. Gamer score collector's love these guys.
The levels all have a really nice colorful 8 bit look to them, and the music is really retro as well. It got a little annoying though, because it's basically the same song over and over just changed up a little. At first I loved it, by world 5 i was muting it. It doesn't take away from what you get in this package though. If you loved Super Mario 3, and like modern retro clones. you won't be able to put this one down. I played the entire game in one setting, I loved it. I loved the how i got to swim on some levels, slide across the level on the ice ones, I loved the suits especially the bee one just flying over levels when the ice got to risky to walk across. Play this one, and let us know what you thought. I think you will really enjoy it, and I think with the difficulty settings it can be enjoyed at any age.
Pros: Reminds me of Super Mario 3, that's a huge compliment
Tons game play, and easy completion for good value
Awesome enemies, and bosses, and special suits
Difficulty settings make it fun for every one
Cons: Music a little repetitive
Overall: 7.5 Ratalaika keeps pumping out inexpensive, and fun little retro games and we can't stop playing them. Ratalaika's library keeps growing just like their fan's gamer scores and trophy counts. They have cemented their legacy on delivering quality inexpensive retro titles and we look forward to seeing what is next.
