Dead Ahead Zombie Warfare

"Dead Ahead Zombie Warfare"
Platform: Xbox One X
Review by: Carless Yen

Wow if you haven't tried this and you love games like "Metal Slug Defense" and "Plants versus Zombies" you are going to fall in love with this one. The idea of the game is to stop hordes of zombies coming towards your bus while also clearing a barrier blocking it from moving. Pretty simple concept, but not a simple game. Dead Ahead amps up the difficulty very quickly making sure you use that head, as well as the items you unlock. For clearing areas and clearing spots on the map chests are found. You use the chests to get a collection of items that can be used to upgrade your soldiers. In these crates you will also find boosters that help you out for a short amount of time. Boosters will help you get extra water which is needed to send out your soldiers, or stamina boosts that make them come out quicker, or even rage that makes them stronger. All three of the boosts come in handy, and are pretty much needed once you get to the Nightmare difficulty levels.
The water adds up and certain weapons require it like the gun on the truck, multiple bombs, and even tech like a generator that produces extra water for you. The game really makes you think, and choose your layout wisely. There are a ton of different soldiers. Everyone has unique skills and weapons. Even Glenn from the Walking Dead can be found among them. You will want to unlock and try them all so replay factor is certainly there. I played this on the One X, but plan on trying it on the phone. I've seen good reviews for it on mobile as well. it is going to keep you busy awhile. Ton of levels on huge maps, ton of characters and weapons. A treat to pass the time really. Like most mobile games yes you can purchase crates with real money, but I really don't see it being a must. I was able to finish it all with out ever making any microtransactions.

Pros: Cute and Cool Characters
Awesome art style
Fun music and sounds
Tons of content
Replay Value

Cons: Microtransactions, but really not needed
Can get to difficult for some early I'd imagine

7.8 A must play for zombie, and mobile game fans. Action packed from start to finish and loads of content.
