MonoChroma

"MonoChroma"
Carless Yen

MonoChroma is a Cinematic Indie side scrolling puzzler about about a boy and his brother. The younger sibling becomes injured early on in the journey, and the older brother carries him the rest of the way on his back , Trying to solve difficult puzzles, while carrying the weight of his brother as well.
If you ever played Limbo, and you enjoyed it i could see you also liking this title. As it also is very dark, black and white design with some red splashed in there as well. It is very well designed the color scheme just fits perfectly in there a long with the story. The story is very intelligent as well, having sort of a political feeling to it, so it just isn't about the bond of siblings trying to make their way home, they sort of have an enemy as well. I won't spoil the story but it makes for a pretty fun final boss battle. It never really is a difficult challenge though, some puzzles may take a little bit of time to solve, but aren't overly frustrating. I could see the worst of puzzle solvers still beating this in around 5 hours. So it makes for a great evening if you decide to grab it, and try it out. The achievements are fairly simple, so achievement hunters this is one to add to your collection most certainly. You will get most on the first play through.
The music is delightful sort of jazzy, and it ties along in there very well with the rest of the campaign. Everything about MonoChroma adds up to a great little indie title, that puzzler fans are sure to enjoy. I experienced no real issues with the game as far as glitches. It played pretty flawlessly. It is about everything you can ask for with this type of game. I have played a lot of Indie puzzlers of late, and this game still never grew stale on me. It holds your attention, and keeps you thinking from start to finish, so i have to recommend it for puzzler fans, or anyone into indies or collecting achievements.

Pros: Fun and not overly challenging puzzles
Wonderful sounds and music
Very interesting story, and ideas

Cons: Tad short, and at times to easy.

Overall: 8.0 A beautifully designed indie puzzler just waiting for you to get your mitts into it...
