Mimic Arena
"Mimic Arena"

Mimic Arena is a Arena Platformer pretty much like the ones before it. Where your objective is nothing more than to kill your opponent as many times as you can before time expires. The only problem there lies, if you have company over playing games, there will plenty of better options in your game library hopefully. That is the main issue. The days of couch coop have more than passed, There is a reason you dish out the money you do every month for Live, because that is the way most coop, and competitive play is done this generation. That being said I know to add the online multiplayer is probably expensive, and a lot of these developers hope their games succeed enough to come back, and maybe add it later.
Now if you can find someone to play it with the gameplay is very smooth. It runs flawlessly, while being bright and colorful. The futuristic holographic feel looks really cool at times, but also becomes a little much at times when the action truly starts. Very easy to lose yourself among the chaos. There are three different game modes. You have Infiltration, Deathmatch and Survival. Infiltration has that sport feel where your objective is to score goals, and then protecting your mimic while he copies your actions. You physically don't score, but you do if you protect your Mimic as it does. Deathmatch and Survival pretty much have the same feel, and concept as each other. Except one your trying to reach a max score, while the other your trying to diminish your competition's score. There are different type of weapons, used to defeat your enemy, plus your mimic can score as well. All of this is done over 10 different levels five for Infiltration, and five for Deathmatch and Survival. I could see you getting a couple nights of fun out of this game with friends, I really don't see it being much more than that. That being said sometime that is enough with these inexpensive arcade/indie games your looking for something new, and cheap to do one evening. Mimic Arena could easily be that game. It isn't going to blow you away with amazement, and its not going to become a party tradition for you and your friends. it could however be that game that kills the boredom of a stale party, and gives you and your friends a evening of unique arena battle fun.
