"In Between"

Warning if your suicidal, or a couple bad days away from being medicated. Stay away from this one. If the really tough puzzles don't drive you insane, the most depressing story ever in a video game will.Unlike "Fragments of Him" which carries a sad story into hope, this game pretty much just craps on all your hopes and dreams. usually I hate to spoil a story, I'm really really big on not wanting to do that. This one I'll save you from it. According to "In Between" and the developers at Head Up Games all you can look forward to in life his getting cancer and dying. Well thank you for that. Most of us play games to feel happy, escape life a little. Play for pleasure and enjoyment. These guys made a game that makes you want to go ahead and write your will, and drink some Cyanide.
Well that is the story part of the game, but if you can get past that. The puzzles are a lot of fun. They are also very unique. I can't remember really a puzzler like this. This and "The Bridge" are without a doubt two of the most unique Puzzlers released on the Xbox One so far. With In Between you have so many obstacles. You have Anger which is represented by big red bubble , You have levels where you must control two people at once, and even Depression which is a growing darkness that chases you. Doesn't really matter if you escape the depression in the game and finish it, after that story it catches you in real life anyways. I can't say it enough just how depressing this games story is. As good as the game play is, its just impossible to enjoy hearing what is going on to your character. I suggest turning off the game sounds, and cranking up the in game music, because it is actually pretty decent sounding. Nice piano that really adds to the experience, as well as they amazing narrator which masterfully delivers a unforgettable story.
Pros: Unique Concept
Challenging Puzzles
Nice artwork, and level design
Beautiful Piano Soundtrack
Great Voice acting, narration.
Great Voice acting, narration.
Cons: Depressing as Hell story
Overall: 8.8 I can't give it a bad score based on how it leaves you feeling story wise, but more than likely you'll leave this game feeling somewhat hopeless, and a little down. I suggest if you have to play it just turn the games sounds down, and enjoy the music, because if you like Puzzlers it is one of a kind. All joking aside this is a don't miss for fans of the genre.
