Kick and Fennick is about a little dude, with a big ass gun. I don't know if that is how he got his name, but the guns recoil is monstrous. The shots send him flying into the air, and that is how he jumps sort of like a old school Quake rocket jump. You get two shots or jumps before coming to the ground. You must get to the top of the obstacle your trying to reach in these two jumps, or you all and attempt again, or fall to your death just depends on the obstacles location. Fennick is your sidekick, a little robot companion that really does nothing for you, but pull you away from things when you hit them saving you from death. He is adorable though, and somehow plays into how many lives you get. I really never figured that out, as In there wasn't many levels that I actually died a lot on. I guess he can't do much because that is the main objective. Your trying to make your way to Core Tower to get him a new battery.
There are enemies spread out through these levels as well, you can shoot them from the ground, or air but in the air counts as one of your leap attempts. They are either flying robots, or ones that roll around on the ground. You have to be quick, because when they see you they come forward at you at their top speed. The level designs are very challenging, and sometimes act like a puzzle to solve. There are also hidden items to be found, and outfits to unlock. So the replay value is there, more than likely you don't find everything on your first play through.
There is a boss at the end of each chapter, and there is five chapters in all, and 45 levels to blast your way through. About 8 hours or so to complete the game, but more if you try to 100% it. The Boss is pretty cool when you first come to him, and when you meet him at the end. You fight him at the end of every chapter though, I guess it kind of sets up the final confrontation, but I really feel this game could have had some really awesome bosses, and made it even better. Maybe had the guard robot show up at end of every boss fight to prevent you from doing something, that way you get to know that boss while battling some really cool other ones. Maybe there will be a sequel, and can get a ton of different creations to battle. That being said though the final boss fight is pretty epic, and the ending really, really puts a beautiful polish to the end of a very fun platform game. I enjoyed everything about this game from the sounds, to the beautiful, beautiful colorful cut scenes, Game could have been a cartoon , or animated movie cause you just loved how it looked, and the characters grew on you.Should you play "Kick & Fennick" If you enjoy platform or puzzle games i think yes. I had a blast with it.

Pros: Beautiful Animation, and colorful level design
Challenging
Nice sounds, and music
Smooth controls
Enjoyable Story and characters

Cons: Repetitive Boss fights

Overall: 8.3 A game with little to no hype, that really shines as a platform puzzler. Really has a "Max Curse Of the Brotherhood" feel to it.
